Soccer

Soccer, also known as football in many parts of the world, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. The objective of the game is to score goals by directing a spherical ball into the opposing team’s net using any part of the body except the hands and arms, with the exception of the goalkeepers, who can use their hands within the penalty area. The game is played on a rectangular field known as a pitch, which is typically grass or artificial turf.

Soccer is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game, maintained by the International Football Association Board (IFAB). It is played at both amateur and professional levels, with national and international competitions, most notably the FIFA World Cup, which is held every four years. The sport is widely regarded as the most popular sport in the world, with millions of players and fans globally, and it has a significant cultural impact in many countries. Soccer promotes teamwork, physical fitness, and strategic thinking among players.
