International Relations

International Relations (IR) is the study and practice of the interactions between sovereign states, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, and other actors on the global stage. It encompasses the analysis of foreign policy, conflict and cooperation between nations, diplomacy, international law, global trade, and human rights issues. The field examines both the theoretical frameworks that explain the behavior of states and non-state actors, as well as the empirical events and phenomena that shape global affairs. Key concepts in international relations include power dynamics, security, sovereignty, and globalization. It aims to understand how states and other entities navigate their interests and influence global outcomes. International relations can also involve the examination of historical contexts, cultural exchanges, and economic interactions to better comprehend the complexities of international politics and the interconnectedness of the world.
